please support the American Freedom Agenda Act

Contact your congresspeople on this important legislation
This is the site I used, but there are many options.

--Repeal the Military Commissions Act of 2007--and thereby restore the ancient right of habeas corpus and end legally sanctioned torture by U.S. government agents
--Restore the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act--(FISA) and thereby outlaw warrantless spying on American citizens by the President of the United States
--Give Congress standing in court to challenge the President's use of "signing statements" as a means to avoid executing the nation's laws
--Make it illegal for government agents to kidnap people and send them abroad to be tortured by foreign governments
--Provide legal protection to journalists who expose wrong-doing by the Federal government
--Prohibit the use of secret evidence to label groups or individuals as terrorists for the purpose of criminal or civil sanctions

One more note... It's interesting to see that today the BDN is back to running the ruling class war narrative on the front page. Yippppeeee!! The surge is working!! The ultra-super-enormous death toll is only ultra-enormous, according to official sources: Deaths in Iraq fall to fewest in year

Thanks to Eric Olson for once again helping to reflect our actions for peace & justice so beautifully. The podcasts continue to ripple out into the broader community and connect with others around the world. The End the War! Build the Peace! Rally and Ceremony was moving and empowering. To be able to reflect and review and share it with others extends the power. The Bangor Daily News coverage reflected the day so beautifully as well. We are so fortunate to have Eric and Tammy act as historians, preserving the day and its coverage as part of our foundation for continuing our efforts for peace and justice.
